CARMEL Art & Film Festival 2009

“The Carmel Art and Film Festival is designed as a celebration of art in all its forms: painting, sculpture, printmaking, music, photography and film will all be represented in our inaugural year. The mission of the festival is to put art in as many places as possible around Carmel, so that visitors will feel immersed in an artistic adventure.”

WHAT:
ART SHOW Saturday & Sunday, October 10 & 11: The juried art show will select 50 artists to show their work in an outdoor art exhibition in Devendorf Park.

FILMS Friday, Saturday & Sunday, October 9, 10 & 11: Selected from the 2009 edition, these films curated by John Cooper, Director of the Sundance Film Festival.

PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW Opening Night Reception, October 8; Exhibition, October 8 – 30: Fifty artists will be selected for a month long exhibition at the Marjorie Evans Gallery at the Sunset Center.

MUSIC: The Carmel Art & Film Festival is proud to present Griffin House in concert.

DIRECTORS’ DINNER Friday, October 9: The art of fine wine and food, coupled with animated conversation with artists and filmmakers.

THE ART OF WINE Saturday, October 10

LECTURE SERIES Saturday and Sunday, October 10 – 11

FESTIVAL ARTIST PRINT Los Angeles reduction linocut printmaker Dave Lefner is creating the inaugural festival limited edition print.

NIGHT LIGHTS, a series of outdoor photography projection shows.

AFTER HOURS Exclusive and private, score a ticket to one of these parties.

I wonder about the timing of this event in September, so close to the Carmel Authors & Idea Festival and also the Mill Valley Film Festival, I believe.
