A trial would have been much better for law abiding residents and and worse for the mayor and three city council members who were irresponsible in the handling of Jane Miller's claims and a mayor who told us it was all "nothing."

At least a trial would have gotten everything out in the open and put the alleged offenders under oath to answer questions about their actions and acts of omission. Then there might have been enough pressure and embarassment to terminte Rich Guillen and force the resignations of all culpable city council members. So, the status quo prevails and the insurance company pays for the sins of the mayor and city council and nothing changes for the better in little old Carmel-by-the-Sea.

If you are one of Sue McCloud's zombies, it's time to wake up.

I wonder how much the insurance premium will go up from $228,000 a year now that the Jane Miller case has been settled for $600,000.

I guess we all can forget her claims were silly, frivolous and nothing. At least former city councilman Gerard Rose got what was coming to him by being voted out of office, but Mayor Sue McCloud still presides over a corrupt city and council and is not answering questions or doing anything to make the whole situation right. She, of course, could resign herself and then the council could vote to fire Rich Guillen.
