I agree this is the obvious first step to repairing Carmel's damaged "laughingstock" reputation among peninsula cities. I also feel a parallel track is in play due to the long-term nature of this long known about but nothing done about management problem. Until the political winds blow this council out and newly elected council persons are seated, untainted by this despicable affair and aggravated by this council's procrastination, the laughingstock reputation will be with us and deservedly so - the unwillingness of many councils to honestly confront this issue and just recently the months of closed door activity then business as usual and a public silence with little to no regard for constituents.

This council does not get Carmel. They voted to extend holiday lights into March contrary to the spirit of Ordinance 96 and the efforts of the late Jim Holliday. They voted against circulating RFPs for the Indoor Forest Theater foregoing an opportunity to show good faith and inclusiveness. They dredged up paid parking in the middle of the Guillen crisis, wasting everyone's time, for an idea which was resoundingly defeated a few years earlier. This council is out of touch with Carmel's traditions. They don't get Carmel and they definitely do not get public service.
