Not to state the obvious, but why are we entrusting the selection of a city administrator with four out of five council persons responsible for not proactively and effectively dealing with city hall's hostile workplace? Do we think these five council persons should be making this decision when they collectively have not accepted any responsibility for the payoffs and settlements and harassment and have shown more concern with their perceived legacies and reputations or political careers than what is really good for Carmel? If these five were truly interested in the good of Carmel, they would follow Rich Guillen's lead and resign knowing the community needs real change we can truly believe in, not psuedo-change where actions do not match rhetoric. They need to put Carmel first and not themselves and their own egos and be accountable to the people they are supposed to serve.

In response to the comment above, I think the lesson we all learned is that in the upcoming 2012 election, we need to vote the bums out of office.
