The nature of selecting a city administrator does not give members of the public much confidence in the person the council selects given this council's proclivity towards non-open and non-transparent government and not doing all they could to include the public in the decision making process. The city council could have held public workshops calling on the public to inform the council members of the characteristics we wanted in a new city administrator, but they did not and instead had preselected cronies of the mayor et al. meet in secret. Another opportunity missed by this city council. Inclusivity just isn't in this council's vocabulary.
