The Chinese Communist Party makes no secret of its determination to destroy the United States of America. Aided by massive – and suicidal – underwriting from Wall Street, dictator Xi Jinping has built and deployed in the Western Pacfic massive military forces increasingly capable of defeating our country’s and those of our allies there.
While the growing threat posed by this changing correlation of forces has lately become a focus of national security professionals, far less attention has been given to the myriad steps the CCP has taken to enable it to engage, perhaps without attribution, in sabotage and other disabling kinetic operations inside America.
Such options arise from the presence of some 300,000 Chinese students on our campuses, large numbers of other nationals of China doing business, research or tourism here, to say nothing of tens of thousands of suspected People’s Liberation Army soldiers who illegally crossed our open borders during the Biden administration. They are further enabled by the PRC’s purchase of farmland and other real estate across the country, often literally within striking distance of sensitive U.S. bases and assets.
A prime example of the latter is the ownership by Eugene Ji, a longtime operative of the CCP’s United Front Work Department of, not one, but two golf courses enveloping a critically important U.S. military installation: Barksdale Air Force Base, home of Air Force Global Strike Command, which is responsible for two of the three “legs” of our nuclear “Triad.” Extensive investigative reporting by the Daily Caller reveals that the courses are being poorly maintained, further suggesting their real purpose is likely to be collecting intelligence and, upon command, conducting attacks like the Ukraine drone strikes last year that took out much of Russia’s strategic bomber force.
China expert Gordon Chang recently described the preparations Communist China is making for war:
China’s regime is engaged in the fastest military buildup since the Second World War, it is stockpiling grain and other commodities, it is reportedly calling up reservists and it is seizing privately owned factories and turning them over to the military. The Chinese Communist Party is trying to sanction-proof the country. Xi Jinping, who repeatedly issues warlike pronouncements, is mobilizing all of Chinese society for prolonged battle.
Especially against these indications of hostile intent, it is the height of irresponsibility to permit our mortal enemy to have the option of waging immensely destructive warfare against us from inside the United States. China’s assets like the Barksdale-adjacent golf courses should be seized immediately and Chinese nationals – especially any PLA soldiers in America – should be repatriated forthwith.
This CPDC webinar makes a case study of the perilous situation at Barksdale AFB to illuminate the larger problem of Chinese threats to our homeland and the urgent need to mitigate them.
