Atop an oak-studded hill on 400 bucolic acres in Carmel Valley, the Carmel Preservation Foundation fittingly chose as its site for its “SAVE THE SCOUT HOUSE” Clam Bake The Holman Ranch. Yesterday, Sunday, 12 November 2006, approximately 60 concerned individuals came together to share their thoughts about the future fate of Carmel-by-the-Sea’s beloved Scout House. After presentations from Ken White (Carmel-by-the-Sea Mayor, 1992-2000), Linda Anderson (Carmel Residents Association, Board of Directors) and Enid Sales (President, Carmel Preservation Foundation), and a wide-ranging discussion, a unanimous consensus was achieved; a consensus to act to restore Carmel-by-the-Sea’s historic Scout House to its original purpose as THE “Community Center” for user groups.
ACT NOW...please contact Enid Sales (625-0566), Ken White (624-4538), Don Hilburn (626-9369), Mike Brown (624-3790 or 625-2299), Hans Lehmann (624-0540) and/or Barbara Livingston (626-1610) for information on how you can act to make the Scout House a vibrant, fully functional “Community Center” for Carmel-by-the-Sea once again!
