Today, Sunday, December 21, 2008, The Monterey County Herald published The Herald’s View entitled “Editorial: Holiday spirit spurs our list of good wishes.”
Pertinent to the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is, as follows:
“To the Carmel City Council: Change.”

Hurrah for Joe Livernois and the Herald! This is certainly a 180 degree turn around from the years when the Herald has said the mayor and city council could do no wrong no matter how they trashed Carmel, its residents and its business community.
Ditto the above. The Herald goes from endorsing Sue McCloud for mayor in April 2008 because in the editorial board’s opinion Carmel is a model of good governance to 8 months later calling for Change. Could it be Joe Livernois is not susceptible to BS by Sue McCloud like Carolina Garcia was when she was executive editor? If true, kudos to Joe, and I hope Joe will not let Sue's propaganda be printed as news in the future. What a change that would be. It has been hard to watch all the local media fall for Sue's self promotion and disinformation at the expense of the facts, truth and reality.
