With all these appeals being granted over the years, it seems to us there was no due diligence on the part of our government to review the DPRs to verify the information on each one. These appeals represent residences which should never have been on the inventory. This has resulted is a waste of the Historic Board's time and of the owners of these inventory houses.
All of these historic appeals reflect badly on the city and the conduct of our business. The city is not looking out for its residents, including owners of properties which were never historic but were put in a position where we had to prove our properties were not historic. We were, and count me and my spouse as property owners, who were told we were guilty and had to spend our own money for consultants to prove we were innocent. That experience has left a very sour taste in our mouths about the city and the way it is being run.
