24th Carmel Art Festival - May 19-21, 2017 Carmel-by-the-Sea Plein Air Juried Painting Competition, Silent Auction & Art Sale

ABSTRACT: “Founded 24 years ago by a group of gallery owners in Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Carmel Art Festival is one of the most prestigious plein air events in the country, attracting art collectors year after year,” the 24th Annual Carmel Art Festival will occur Friday, May 19, through Sunday, May 21, 2017, Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The Venue: Mission Street between Ocean Avenue and 6th, and adjacent Devendorf Park Sculpture-In-The-Park, Quick Draw, Kids Make Art Day, Live Music. The Schedule: Friday, May 19, 2017 –From 4:00 P.M., artists bring their newly painted plein air paintings to the Carmel Art Festival tent on Mission Street. Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Exhibition paintings can be viewed all day on Mission Street. Judging 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. and Silent Auction throughout the day until 6:00 P.M. “Meet the Artists”, 3:30 pm – 5 pm;  “Artist Awards Ceremony”, 5 pm; “Live Auction” follows Silent Auction estimated to be 6:15 P.M.. Sunday, May 21, 2017 – Featured event between 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Quick Draw. Winning artists of the festival have two hours to paint a painting in and around Carmel-by-the-Sea. These will be displayed in Devendorf Park and auction between 11:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M.
