RESIGNATION: City Council Member Paula Hazdovac Resigns from City Council Effective 7 September 2012

ABSTRACT: In a letter of resignation dated August 10, 2012, addressed to Mayor Jason Burnett, City Council Member Paula Hazdovac wrote, in part, “I regret to inform you that I am resigning from my seat on the Carmel by the Sea City Council as it has become necessary for me to devote more time to my family. Councilwoman Paula Hazdovac says she wants her replacement to be a business person. Fair enough. But when she went along with the sales tax increase proposal, she was representing the politicial wing of the business community and arguably not the interests of Carmel business owners as a whole.
