ISSUES
Vibrant village, strong economy
To keep Carmel-by-the-Sea vibrant, we need to maintain a diversity of businesses, serving both residents and visitors.
Fiscal responsibility
Our city hall needs to account for off budget liabilities, such as roads, storm damage, and lawsuits.
Asking the tough questions
We need to ensure that City Hall reflects our values. We want a city government with great employee morale, because that’s good for the whole community.
Working together
City leadership needs to listen carefully to really understand what people want in our community. There must also be an atmosphere of respect and courtesy so that all feel comfortable sharing their views.
Transparency in government
Residents of Carmel-by-the-Sea should expect fair application of our city’s rules. We need to be clear about these rules and ordinances, and then work to ensure that they are evenly followed and enforced.

Jason Burnett for Council and Adam Moniz for Mayor is just what we need now more than ever. They at least understand that we need to stop business as usual as city hall if we want to stop throwing away millions of dollars on lawsuits. Got get em' guys!!!
Gosh, Jason Burnett has incredibly impressive credentials as far as experience. Gives me the impression that Burnett would bring a youthful, fresh vision to Carmel. A degree in Economics? Wow, that just might help Carmel through budgetary times. I heard he is also a trustee of the Packard Foundation. You better believe they oversee hundreds of millions of dollars as they parcel out money to benefit many community non-profits. That should also speak to the ability to be analytical about managing money for a city.
Jason is just what we need to interject into a "team" of stagnant career politicians. And who are the incumbents to say that some one with a fresh approach and fresh ideas can't be a team player?
Go Jason Go!
The City of Carmel is fortunate to have Jason Burnett running for City Council. His impressive resume demonstrates the skills and experience he will bring to the position. His intelligence, experience in working with others, and his commitment to the health of our environment will benefit us all. And how wonderful to have a young man with vision care so much about his home town!
