American Thinker: 'Huxley's Warning: Totalitarianism in the 21st Century'

Huxley's Warning: Totalitarianism in the 21st Century
By T.R. Clancy

Huxley foresaw this, too:

The greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by doing something, but by refraining from doing. Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects, by lowering what Mr. Churchill calls an "iron curtain" between the masses and such facts or arguments as the local political bosses regard as undesirable, totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have done by the most eloquent denunciations, the most compelling of logical rebuttals.

Now that progressives have complete control of Washington, they’ll escalate their lies -- of commission, and especially of omission -- to gain a tighter and more permanent grip. Still, Truth remains their real enemy. It explains social media’s current blitz of de-platforming conservatives, trying to drop an "iron curtain," just as Huxley predicted, to separate the people from undesirable facts.

Likewise, fidelity to truth is our best defense; that, and continuing to refuse their lies. That’s one positive action Solzhenitsyn was able to offer his comrades who felt powerless against the repressive Soviet system, “the most perceptible of its aspects” being lies: “Personal non-participation in lies. Though lies conceal everything, though lies embrace everything, but not with any help from me.”

President Trump Takes a Hit for the Team
By Jack Cashill

In the 2020 election, Trump showed us just how inherent was the Left’s fondness for fascism. Big Tech crossed something of a Rubicon two weeks before the election when its agents colluded in censoring the Hunter Biden story. Big Media helped their allies across.

Starting in ten days all the rods will be gathered -- the presidency, the House, the Senate, Big Tech, Big Media, Hollywood, the CIA, the FBI, perhaps even the military. Just in the last few weeks, their collective eagerness to suppress dissent has shown up their mentors in the CCP.

We Will Not Be Lectured by the Violent, Anti-American, Revolutionary Left
By William Sullivan

…we will not be lectured by the pro-Marxist, anti-liberty Democratic Party or their media apparatchiks. We will not be silenced by their enablers in the GOP, either. We Americans are righteously indignant about the greed and corruption in our government that defiles its constitutional purpose in an effort to rule rather than represent its people. We are outraged at the lack of transparency in the recent elections, and demand investigations to prove their veracity beyond all shadows of doubt.

Purging and pulverizing President Trump and America, communist style
By Lynne Lechter

Despite the opprobrium and sabotage, Trump gave America a jump start on a return to greatness:

Trump got us out of the insane Iran deal that gave scads of cash to our avowed enemy
Trump pulled us out of the costly and self-destructive Paris agreement - a climate control boondoggle
Trump turned on the engines of American manufacturing, rewarding Americans with the greatest employment numbers for all worker groups including every minority the Democrats ever identified
Trump supported religious activity and made it acceptable again
Trump celebrated his followers and connected with them - even if they ate at Olive Garden
Trump concentrated on legal immigration and attempted to slow illegal immigration
Trump has a great friend of Israel and world Jewry, moving the American embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israel’s national sovereignty, and protecting her against vicious attacks in the UN
Trump gave us years of a great stock market thereby improving the economic status of millions of Americans
