I wish we had a serious city council. A serious council would have selected an interim city administrator by March 31 at the latest and selected a search firm to find qualified candidates for permanent city administrator by now. When the city council schedules an item, then postpones, cancels or puts off to a future date important items they show us they are not serious about governing. The council likes to tell the public we have to move on together, but when it comes to following their own advice, these council members individually do not seem to be on the same page moving together themselves for the good of Carmel. In fact, they act as if governing is endless deliberaton so when a decision is required they are not able to make a collective decision they can all defend.
