Carmel Controversy Continues
Duration: 2:16
SYNOPSIS:
KION Reporter Shannon Hogan went to City Hall to interview Mayor Sue McCloud, but the mayor refused to go on camera or answer how, or if, the City punished City Administrator Rich Guillen. Guillen returned to work this week after a three week vacation.
KION QUESTION:
WHY WON’T THE CITY RESOLVE THE ISSUE?
“The management issue remains before us and it clearly is not settled” and the issue “should have been resolved many months ago,” stated City Council Member Jason Burnett.
Mayor Sue McCloud said it is time to start focusing on other issues.

Thank you Fire Rich for your alert on KION Central Coast News CARMEL CONTROVERSY!
As Mayor McCloud is fond of saying, "stay tuned." Join the conversation online at the Fire Rich Guillen Facebook page and turn the heat up on City Hall to make a decision.
The sad irony is that Mayor Sue McCloud and her sidekick Councilwomen Paula Hazdovac and Karen Sharp are reputed to be the council members in favor of doing nothing punitive against Rich Guillen for his known misconduct; three women covering for Guillen and the two men privately advocating for Guillen’s ouster. I guess the women’s movement passed these three women by. They must be in the Stone Age when it comes to sexual harassment in the workplace. Maybe Carmelites should stop focusing on Guillen and call for the resignations of these three councilwomen so that new members can then vote to end Guillen’s sad tenure in Carmel.
Mayor Sue McCloud has polarized our community into two factions. One faction is the Sue McCloud manipulated majority of her commissioners, board members, sister, friends and supporters who are going around saying the whole thing is nothing and those Miller’s routinely sue cities to make money. The other faction is the media demonized minority who advocate for the departure of Rich Guillen. No common ground there between the factions.

Sue McCloud has also manipulated the public into believing all those closed sessions were to seriously consider the important issues of sexual harassment and age and sex-based employment discrimination at city hall when they were all a PR stunt. Sue never had any intention of confronting the issues or disrupting Rich Guillen’s modus operandi. In fact, this whole mess has not damaged the mayor in the slightest. It’s not her money for settlements, most of media still cover and advocate for her and there is no public hue and cry to get rid of all concerned. And the beat goes on...sick, sick, sick...
